Blogging Exercise #1 - Technology Website

Hi Bloggers!!!
Though i am not very computer smarts, or have even thought about this area of study, i found a great website that interests me and it is, www.doleta.gov/brg/indprof/it.cfm .  This site in the United States De[artment Of Labor and on the home page it talks about Statewide Solutions to Address Information technology Indsurty workforce Needs.  They are basically talking about a series if investments to help the workers improve their skills and help them grow as a company. I have always been very fasinated with the way the web pages are designed because i wish i had that much talent and computer eduaction to do that.  I think the layout of a website can either bring in customers or lead them away.  Visual stimulation is very important when buying products from online, researching or just browsing.  Web Developer is what i would like to learn about and become familiar with.  i think it is a very important job that i would enjoy.  This position interests because because i love being on the computer and i really love shopping online.  if i go to a website to shop at and it has no color or pictures i ususally find another site that peaks my interest visually.  I also like a job that can challenge me and since i am not very good with computers this position would really make me think and work hard to impress the people i work for to show them i can do it and not only do it, but make it look like a million dollars.  The degree requirement is a BA. This person should have knowledge about computers, know how to create Web pages that will look good in any browser on any platform. In addition to knowing applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash, a Web developer understands databases, JavaScript, XML—and how to work with both designers and engineers. This is also a fast paced job, so dealines are very important to be on top of and in the end you are always pround of what you did.

Questions:
1. Typically how long does it take to learn a new format or system??

2. What degree do you have to have to be able to teach these computer systems/formats??

3. What is the one system or format that is most useful to college students?

4. Whats one system or format that you recommend the most?
